For individuals who are interested
in a career as a professional pilot, langaAir has developed
a structured step-by-step approach to accomplish that goal.
As you may already know, there
are basic ratings or licenses that must be held in order to
fly professionally. Once the basic flight training is completed
and the flight ratings are awarded, you may then be concerned
with building flight experience, which is measured in flight
hours. Airlines, cargo operators, charter operations, and corporate
flight departments will normally only consider candidates who
posses a minimal amount of flight time for employment. Since
most individuals fall short of the "employable level" of flight
experience immediately after completing their initial flight
ratings, the next step may be to find an economical means of
building flight time experience. Through langaAir's flight instructor
internship phase, you will gain the valuable flight time needed
to move to your next career step.
Further, most employers in this
industry prefer pilots who have completed some college. Through
our affiliation with a local
college, you will receive college credit for every course
completed at no additional charge - this may be the most cost
effective, best valued pilot degree program in the country.
A general summary of the professional
pilot program follows:
Phase I: Initial Professional
Pilot Training.
Upon completion of the first phase
of the professional pilot program, you will have successfully
earned the following ratings:
Private Pilot
Instrument Pilot
Multi-Engine Pilot
Commercial Pilot
Certified flight Instructor
Instrument Instructor
Multi-Engine Instructor
Duration: 7 to 12 Months
Phase II: Employment as a Professional
Certified Flight Instructor
Upon Successful Completion of Phase I, langaAir will hire the
new professional pilot as a Certified flight Instructor (CFI).
For aggressive individuals, the "employable" flight
experience levels can be reached in 6 to 12 months.
Phase III: Employment as a
First Officer .
Upon completion of Phase II and
acquiring 500 to 1000 hours of total flight experience, you
may be eligible for an interview as positions become available
with a regional airline, corporate flight department or charter
company. langaAir's graduates have found success at GoJet, Chautauqua,
Trans States, Jet Blue, Skywest, American Airlines, Southwest
Airlines, Mesaba Airlines, Comair, Express Jet, Skyway Airlines,
JetCorp, etc.
